3RD HOME Buzz in the Real Estate Industry

Happy Friday! Please enjoy a article written by Margie Casey of Real Estate Scorecard. After, take a minute to visit her website – Real Estate Scorecard

Last year, I visited 3RD HOME’s corporate office in Nashville, to learn more about this luxury home swap club. Unlike cheap timeshares, second homes accepted into the 3RD HOME program are special, valued from $750k to over $4 million. 3RD HOME is actively involved in the screening process and is today’s trusted match maker for vacation home owners.

Take a look at the luxury homes in the program: 3RD HOME

People with luxury second homes can take advantage of this growing private reciprocal club and add value to their vacation home. 3RD HOME allows members to deposit weeks at their home in exchange for keys to travel to other members’ second homes for a transaction fee of only $495. 3RD HOME makes this ever growing collection of properties around the world extremely easy to reserve, watch and request time. Not only is 3RD HOME expanding and becoming more well known it is extremely user friendly when searching, reserving and communicating with 3RD HOME exchange coordinators.

The private reciprocal club is now in its third year and bigger than ever. 3RD HOME is growing in not only size with over 1,000 members and properties but in regards to awareness and popularity as well. Members now have the luxury of choosing from over 1,100 properties all over the world with destinations in 62 countries. The newest destinations include Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, the Philippines, Japan, Jamaica, and St. Maarten.

One new feature on their website is the “property search” interactive map, which allows members to customize their property search to find exactly what they are looking for. When a member visits the “Explore Properties” page under the “Search” tab, it brings them to a page with a world map. The map allows users to select a region of the world they would like to travel to in order to narrow the search results. Selecting a time of year the member wants to travel can also narrow the results or an activity the member wants the location to include. For example, a member can select the “ski” icon, then the USA region and the Rocky Mountains to get all properties that meet the search criteria.

For members to receive specials, they can sign up to be on the “Daily Alerts” list. In this case they would receive an email Monday through Friday with a special offer for a specific property. For example, there could be a five key vacation home that a member could book for three keys.

Take a look at their most recent news:

  • Over $2.5 billion of luxury secondary real estate in the club 3RD HOME has 1000 members and over 1200 properties in 62 countries.
  • Partner offices in Singapore, and Noosa Heads, Australia 3RD HOME has partnered up with Elite Resorts of Asia Pacific and Lifestyle Realty in both of those countries respectively in order to provide a presence in Asia and Australasia.
  • Newest Countries with member properties Bulgaria, the Philippines, Hungary, Germany, Japan, Jamaica, and St. Maarten

If you own a qualifying second home, joining this program is a no brainer. If not, bookmark the thought in your mind for future use. This is an excellent way to leverage your second home opening up to gateway to vacation homes around the world similar to yours.

3RD HOME is a smart vacation club.
